Blog Reflection Questions:


Multimedia is the process of having images or videos in a file, mp4, mp3, jpeg,

png.

-Multimedia is a representation of information in an attractive and interactive manner with the use of a combination of text, audio, video, graphics and animation. In other words we can say that Multimedia is a computerized method of presenting information combining textual data, audio, visuals (video), graphics and animations. For examples: E-Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Video Conferencing, and Multimedia Message Service (MMS).
Multimedia as name suggests is the combination of Multi and Media that is many types of media (hardware/software) used for communication of information.



Significance of Social Media:

Convenience, so that we can have good communication on the internet, and because of Multimedia we are able to send videos, pictures, gif, and especially memes around the internet.


PROS AND CONS

First and foremost, one of the advantages of Social Media is easy communication. You can communicate with people by using social media. Secondly, Social Media created a new type of job. That helps people to earn more money, Thirdly. It helps people to manage a business or handle their business faster, with the help of convenience of the Social Media. Fourthly, Education. Social Media can help students to learn more, Fifth. Convenience, it helps people by the help of social media. Lets now go to the downsides:


Downsides of the Social Media

1. Negative Effects on the health of a student.

multiple studies have found a strong link between heavy social media and an increased risk for depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. Social media may promote negative experiences such as: Inadequacy about your life or appearance.

2. Can affect the eyesight of  the doer

One that makes a huge impact on our bodies is the strain that screen time puts on one of our most important organs, our eyes. We often neglect how much we need our eyes, and eye health often gets put on the backburner.

3. Sleep Deprivation

The impacts of blue light exposure may be worse for those who wake up to check their phone after falling asleep. Approximately 21% of adults say that they wake up to check their phone during the night, leaving them at an even higher risk of losing sleep and developing a sleep disorder like insomnia.

4. Depression

It can make someone feel depressed when they see that they have a better life than you.


5. Low Self Esteem

While social media is sometimes touted to combat loneliness, a significant body of research suggests it may have the opposite effect. ... By triggering comparison with others, it can raise doubts about self-worth, potentially leading to mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.
